Funding:

Up to S/ 3'400,000 (PEN), according to the number of researchers to incorporate.

General Objective:

To increase human capital for science, technology and innovation through financing the incorporation of researchers with a Doctorate degree and the research project development, in order to generate impact on the creation, strengthening or consolidation of lines of research in Peruvian entities.

The researcher represents a key element for transformation and generation of knowledge and development opportunities.

Target Public:

1. Peruvian universities that are licensed or in the process of being licensed by SUNEDU.
2. Peruvian institutes or research centers (public or private).
3. Companies.

The Applicant Entity may optionally apply, with one or more Associated Entities that actively participate in the execution of the financed research project.

Note: International Centers, domiciled or non-domiciled in Peru, are excluded from applying for this call.

Team Conformation

1. Research team.

   Peruvian or foreign researchers (domiciled or non-domiciled in Peru) with a Doctorate degree are eligible. Doctorate degrees obtained through distance learning programs are not considered.

   There are three categories:

   • Principal Researcher (min. 0 – max. 01).
   • Research Associate (min. 0 – max. 02).
   • Postdoctoral Researcher (min. 0 – max. 03).

   At least one researcher in any of these categories.

2. Internal team presented by the Applicant Entity/Associated Entity:
   • Principal Researcher (if the research team does not have one).
   • Co-researchers (min. 01 – max. 06).
   • Thesis students (min. 02 – max. 06).

Requirements

1. Research team to incorporate:
   • Principal Researcher
     • He/she has a Doctorate degree.
     • He/she has experience leading projects and research groups.
     • He/she has research papers or other publications and/or patents, development or technological products, and experience in training graduate students from his/her field of research.
   • Research Associate
     • He/she has a Doctorate degree.
     • He/she has participated in research projects.
   • Postdoctoral Researcher
     • He/she has obtained a Doctorate degree since 2014.
     • He/she has published at least two (02) research articles.
     • He/she has done an individual task in a doctoral thesis project.
2. Internal team presented by the Applicant Entity/Associated Entity:
   • Principal Researcher (if the research team does not have one)
     • He/she has a Doctorate degree.
     • He/she has experience leading projects and research groups.
     • He/she has research papers or other publications and/or patents, development or technological products, and experience in training graduate students from his/her field of research.
   • Co-researcher:
     • He/she has a professional degree and/or a Master's degree.

Call Priorities

1. General sectors: Farming, Energy, Telecommunications, Health, Education, Environment, Metallurgy, and Housing and sanitation.
2. Strategic sectors: Agroindustry and food processing, Wood forest, Textile and apparel, Mining and its manufacture, Advanced manufacturing, and Ecotourism, restoration and creative industries.

Expected Results

It is expected that the selected applications will achieve the following results at the end of the execution of research projects:

1. At least two (02) additional projects submitted for financing that guarantee the continuity of the line of research.
2. At least one (01) new product or scientific-technological base process whose application contributes to solving problems or taking advantage of opportunities relevant to Peruvian regions.
3. For the funded research project: At least one (01) scientific paper per incorporated researcher, submitted or accepted for publication in indexed journals, preferably in Q1 or Q2.
4. At least two (02) undergraduate or graduate theses submitted to their thesis jury that lead to the obtaining of professional or academic degrees in Peruvian universities.
5. At least two (02) presentations at international conferences.
6. At least one (01) employment contract or service provision for an incorporated researcher with a minimum validity of three (03) years.
